True or false: Your daily habits do not define you. 

What do you do day in and day out? Drink coffee? Yell at your dog? Do favors for others? Eat cake? Eat kale? Worry? Tell your significant other you love them? Your daily actions add up. The same principle applies to your health and wellness.

Many things are easy to do but they’re also easy NOT to do. This is where 95% of people fail and where 5% of people succeed. The 5% of people that succeed at whatever they put their minds to are the ones that are committing themselves everyday to that outcome. 

The person who devoted themselves to living abroad in let’s say, in the French Riviera, appears to be “lucky” to the 95%. And you’ll hear this a lot: “You’re so lucky!” When it had almost nothing to do with luck. What daily choices did that person make to get them there?

I used to think that it was only the big things that you achieved that defined you. Wow, was I wrong. According to Jeff Olson, author of The Slight Edge, you are your habits. And I would agree after working with client after client. My clients are what they do every day. Period. Not the things they do once in a while.

And that’s what separates the creme de la creme from the rest, so to speak. 

So it goes both ways, right? The piece of cake you ate one day when you were trying to eat healthy doesn’t define you if you only did it once. But eating that cake every day does define you if you do it every day. If you’re eating a clean, whole-foods diet day in and day out, soon you start to lose weight. You have more and more energy. Your brain fog lifts. The healthy choices start to compound and will power is no longer an issue. There are myriad permutations of this equation.
