Chris Guillebeau has traveled to almost every country before the age of 30 or 35 (can’t remember which). He has ~20 more to go before he’s been to every country on this planet. Often times, he hears people say “Oh, that must be easy, he has a bunch of money and time” and he wrote a blog article about it. It’s awesome. So often we discount the cool, interesting things other people are doing based upon technicalities. And he says, well, if it’s so easy, why aren’t you doing it? Obviously the things we pursue aren’t always that easy and until we’re doing similarly cool things, we should be mindful of how we talk about others.
Be happy for others. This is a difficult lesson to learn and I’m still working on it in my young life. And find something you love to do so that you’re not secretly jealous of others doing random, cool stuff.
Namaste.
